It's safe to say the rap game officially belong to Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z! With Samsung Mobile purchasing a million copies of his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, Hov has rewritten the history books, branching New Rules. The Recording Industry Association of America has decided to change their certification policy and write a new rule regarding counting digital sales.
Director Liz Kennedy says,
" We think it’s time for the RIAA – and Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman – to align our digital song and album certification requirements. That’s why today we are officially updating this rule in our G&P Program requirements. Going forward, sales of albums in digital format will become eligible on the release date, while sales of albums in physical format will still become eligible for certification 30 days after the release date. "
Platinum album in one day! What's more amazing about this is, when the album is officially released to the public he will possibly sell another million+.
